Earlier this year VFFF leapt at the opportunity to join an innovative collaboration between some of Australia’s leading philanthropic foundations to establish the Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE) Grant program. Managed by the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, the WISE Grant program was designed to offer grant funding of more than $4.7 million to successful applicants.

As part of our commitment to Decent Work for young people, we are proud to be joining with other Australian philanthropic organisations to create a new grant program, The Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE) Grant. This program will provide up to $4 million in grants to social enterprises that exist to create jobs and employment pathways for Australians facing barriers to mainstream employment.

VFFF is excited to be the co-seed funder of Australia’s first social enterprise hotel staffed by industry professionals supporting hospitality trainees with intellectual disabilities.
Hotel Etico opens this November at the newly refurbished Mount Victoria Manor. Guests of the hotel will not only stay in elegant rooms, dine in at Niccolò’s Restaurant and Bar, find spaces for socialising, a quiet read or favourite flick; their holiday experience will contribute toward a proven employment training and social inclusion program that transforms lives.
