Empowering young people to imagine and build a better society

In March 2023, VFFF approved $600,000 over two years in core operations funding, supporting Young Change Agents to amplify youth voice and measure impact. A social enterprise dedicated to cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets, skillsets, and toolsets in young people, Young Change Agents empowers youth to imagine and help build a better society.

Creating equitable career pathways

VFFF is proud to support the Australian Government’s efforts to help ease cost of living pressures for university students undertaking mandatory course placements across selected degrees. We are partnering with Charles Sturt University and The University of the Sunshine Coast to provide support to Paramedicine students undertaking mandatory placements in FY26.

Towards the Sustainability of Rural and Regional Media

In September 2021 the VFFF Board granted $1.4 million over 3 years to The Centre for Media Transition (UTS) in partnership with the Guardian Australia (GA) to support the development of a rural and regional media network and, in parallel, undertake research on post-philanthropic business models to support and sustain commercially viable news media enterprises in rural and regional Australia.
