VFFF is cognisant of the Australian referendum proposal to add the Voice of First Nations people to the Constitution. Whilst we see that decision as one for each voting Australian to make, the Foundation is aware that our target regions contain a significant number of First Nations young people facing disadvantage.

VFFF is a strong supporter of First Nations young people particularly through:

    • providing grants to organisations that have on the ground authentic delivery encompassing direct youth voice in services that improve their current and future security
    • elevating the voices of young people as respected and informed citizens on issues that matter to them
    • having a youth advisory group that includes First Nations representation
    • providing cultural training to VFFF team members.
