Our Impact

Alpha Australia

The Alpha Youth Series allows young people to discuss, explore and form their own views on the basics of the Christian faith.

The Alpha Australia Youth Series is an 8-10 week program designed to ease young people into the basics of Christian faith through ‘food, film and having a chat’. Sessions are run in church youth groups or school-based Christian groups and involve a meal, watching an interactive video presentation on a different topic each week followed by a facilitated discussion.

Designed to create a safe and non-judgmental environment, the Alpha Youth Series allows young people to discuss, explore and form their own views on the basics of the Christian faith. Alpha has a relationship development model. Their staff network directly with church, youth and school leaders to promote resources and train volunteer Alpha leaders to ensure that a quality, engaging experience is delivered for young people.

The Alpha Youth Series has strong alignment with VFFF's Christianity funding goal to provide young people the opportunity to make life choices informed by an understanding of Christian faith and belief. Peer to peer discussion is one of the most empowering ways for young people to explore faith and Christian values. Alpha provides space for those with interest in faith and spirituality to be part of facilitated peer to peer conversation and collaborative discussion.

VFFF’s multi-year core operations support aims to help Alpha accelerate its encouraging growth trajectory with an ultimate goal of over 100,000 Australian young people participating in Alpha Youth from 2022-2024.
