Every two years the philanthropic community gathers at the Philanthropy Australia conference, providing an opportunity to connect, share and learn from sector peers.
At the most recent conference held in Adelaide, on the lands of the Kaurna people, VFFF was well represented with family members, Directors, a Youth Advisory Group member and some of the team in attendance.
Meet our New Youth Advisory Group
Drawing on their experiences as young people from the bush, the YAG continue to play an integral role in VFFF’s work by shortlisting applicants for the Backing The Future program and providing guidance to VFFF staff on how to best back young people.

Read MoreBuilding Decent Work Pathways in Agriculture
The Decent Work focus area builds on VFFF’s historical focus on supporting employment outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage. As a result a feasibility consulation conducted as part of a VFFF Decent Work Exploration Grant, the Australian Training Company received a VFFF multi-year grant to deliver a School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship. One of the stories to emerge from this partnership is Mitch Shipton’s, who joined the program to support his mum and learn how to better manage their 900-acre dairy farm.
